Our Mission

Renascent Energy is a privately-held, technology-focused energy company. Our business focuses on proprietary and proven thermal technologies to produce energy from geosystems, primarily via already-existing shale wells, bolstering economic success by 1) removing the expensive requirement to drill new wells, and 2) recycling existing infrastructure. “Renascent” means reborn, and our operations extract energy using dormant shale wells that would otherwise be plugged & abandoned. Shale wells are drilled and completed with long horizontal sections traversed by numerous stages of hydraulic fractures. The pervasive fracture systems expose enormous surface area of rock – ideal for thermal processes that require exchanging heat between the rock formation and fluids which can flow through the fractures and through the wells (to/from the surface).

Geothermal Operations

Many of these shale formations are deep enough to have elevated rock temperatures. Renascent’s patent-pending EGS (Enhanced Geothermal Systems) method is amenable to any shale wellpad, whether its wells are parallel with connected frac systems, or in opposing directions with isolated frac systems. Also, Renascent’s unique modular deployment of compact geothermal power plants allows for easy & rapid interconnects with no need for large centralized substations.

Oil & Gas Operations

Renascent is a bonded oil & gas well operator in Texas, and employs its own proprietary thermal enhanced recovery technique which enables us to realize large increases in the Ultimate Recovery of an existing well that is completed in shallow (and thus cooler) shale formation, and is currently producing at marginal levels, or is already shut-in or depleted.

Experience

The Renascent Energy team has deep expertise born of many decades of combined experience in 1) planning and executing complex oilfield projects, and 2) science & technology development in energy recovery via thermal geosystems, gained in the high-tech E&P departments of super-major oil companies. Our technical folks are industry leaders in R&D and field deployment of thermal enhanced energy recovery, particularly in shale formations.
